GUPPYFRIEND™ Washing Bag
Our garments made from recycled synthetic materials all have amazing qualities such as durability, comfort, breathability, and fast drying.
When washing these garments, tiny fibers from the synthetic textiles could make their way from the washing machine into rivers and oceans with potential harm to the marine ecosystems.
The GUPPYFRIEND™ Washing Bag, made in Europe, is an effective, scientifically proven, and patented solution to stop these plastic fibres from entering the waterway. Just put your synthetic textiles into the washing bag and wash them as usual together with your non-synthetic textiles. After the wash, just remove the collected fibres from the inside of the Guppyfriend Washing Bag and dispose of them in your recycling bin.
In addition, the GUPPYFRIEND™ Washing Bag significantly reduces fibre breakage and protects your clothes, giving them a longer lifetime. This also applies to clothing made from natural fibers like cotton.

GUPPYFRIEND Washing Bags are ethically and sustainably produced in Europe. The filter fabric comes from Italy, the other materials from Portugal. The sewing factories that produce the GUPPYFRIEND Washing Bag are located in Portugal und Poland. The design and printing of the packaging are made in Germany.
The GUPPYFRIEND Washing Bag is made entirely of polyester, including woven tape, edging tape and zip. This makes it recyclable by type. The filter material is untreated, undyed and contains no additives. The fabric is made of monofilaments. These resemble sticks rather than threads and do not lose any fibres themselves.
1) Fill to about ⅔ full so that the textiles can easily move around in the bag
2) Add other (non-synthetic) garments to the machine
3) Wash cold or warm with 104F / 40°c maximum
4) Use liquid and natural detergents without synthetics
5) After wash, take the textiles from the Guppyfriend washing bag while they’re still wet
6) Remove the collected fibers from the inside of the filter fabric by hand and dispose of them in your recycling bin
